PALMOILMAGAZINE, KUALA LUMPUR — The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) officially concluded its annual RT2025 conference on Wednesday (5/11/2025) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, marking two decades of collective commitment toward advancing sustainable palm oil practices worldwide.
The closing session brought together representatives from industry, international organizations, and smallholder groups, featuring speakers from the World Resources Institute (WRI), Foresta Food, and RSPO Chief Executive Officer Joseph (JD) D’Cruz. All underscored the need for stronger cross-sector collaboration to ensure that sustainability moves beyond rhetoric and into meaningful, on-the-ground action.
WRI’s Roseberg opened the session by reflecting on RSPO’s journey since its founding in Kuala Lumpur two decades ago. “We must remember that the commitment we made 20 years ago right here in Kuala Lumpur remains the foundation of our global movement,” she said.
