PALMOILMAGAZINE, BANDUNG — The 3rd Technology and Talent Palm Oil Mill Indonesia (TPOMI) 2025 officially returns from July 8 to 10, 2025, at Holiday Inn Bandung Pasteur, West Java. The exhibition and conference serve as a strategic platform to unite palm oil industry players, technology providers, academics, and policymakers in reinforcing collaboration between technology and human capital to advance sustainable palm oil processing.
Carrying the theme “Updating Technology & Talent for Palm Oil Mill and Downstream”, TPOMI 2025 is organized by Media Perkebunan in partnership with the Association of Plantation Professional Practitioners (P3PI). The official opening on Wednesday (July 9) was led by Ir. Bambang, M.M., Deputy for Plant Quarantine, accompanied by Dida Gardera, S.T., M.Sc., Expert Staff at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, and Ir. Posma Sinurat, Chair of P3PI and Chief Executive of TPOMI.
In his remarks, Posma highlighted the importance of cross-sector collaboration to produce competitive, efficient, and eco-friendly products and talent. “We are featuring more than 30 exhibitor booths to foster collaboration among practitioners, business players, and academics,” he stated during the event, as reported by beige-heron-208544.hostingersite.com.

Meanwhile, Ir. Bambang emphasized the need to improve the public perception of the palm oil industry, particularly domestically. “We must demonstrate that oil palm is a leading crop for tropical conservation. This industry truly supports the people—from farmers and workers to researchers,” he said. He also underscored the role of the Plant Quarantine Division in seed oversight, sanitation assurance, and facilitating Indonesia’s palm oil exports.
During the presentation session, Dida Gardera discussed the latest developments in the ISPO Information System, as regulated in Presidential Regulation No. 16 of 2025. The system outlines general provisions and a supervisory framework based on an integrated information architecture managed by the ISPO Committee.
The conference featured speakers from government ministries, industry associations, technology providers, research institutions, and the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS). Mohamad Alfansyah, Director of Downstream Fund Distribution at BPDP, presented the agency’s continued support for the development of Indonesia’s palm oil industry. He noted that Indonesia remains the world’s largest producer, contributing 59% of global palm oil output—far ahead of Malaysia.
Alfansyah stressed the importance of targeted BPDP funding, particularly to support the Peremajaan Sawit Rakyat (PSR) or smallholder replanting program, as well as innovation-driven research. “TPOMI is a crucial moment to expand collaboration for farmers’ welfare and industrial resilience,” he stated.
Over its two-day span, TPOMI 2025 showcases cutting-edge technological innovations, including AI-powered machines, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, automated control systems, energy-efficient tools, and advanced production monitoring software. These technologies are designed to enhance palm oil mill performance and support downstream businesses.
With a focus on innovation and synergy, TPOMI 2025 is expected to accelerate the adoption of modern technologies and open up cross-sector partnerships, paving the way for a stronger, more efficient, and sustainable Indonesian palm oil industry. (P2)
