PALMOILMAGAZINE, LHOKSEUMAWE – The Lhokseumawe City Government has reaffirmed its commitment to positioning the city as a key driver of Aceh’s export growth, particularly in the palm oil sector and its downstream industries. Mayor Sayuti Abubakar emphasized that strengthening the global competitiveness of Aceh’s palm oil remains a top priority in boosting regional economic development.
“We want Aceh’s palm oil to compete globally and create added value that benefits our communities,” said Sayuti Abubakar on Tuesday (Nov 4, 2025).
He explained that the Aceh–Malaysia–Taiwan Business Forum serves as a strategic platform to expand export opportunities, particularly for palm oil and its derivative products such as palm kernel shell (PKS). The forum also aims to strengthen cross-border investment networks and foster collaboration in green energy and sustainable industrial development.

According to Sayuti, Lhokseumawe holds vast potential for developing PKS as both an eco-friendly alternative fuel and a high-value export commodity. The city’s robust infrastructure—supported by the Krueng Geukueh Port and nearby industrial zones—provides a strong foundation for transforming Lhokseumawe into Aceh’s central hub for palm oil processing and trade.
“The city’s strategic location and abundant resources make Lhokseumawe ideal for developing the palm kernel shell industry and its derivatives,” he said, as quoted by beige-heron-208544.hostingersite.com from KBRN RRI, Tuesday (Nov 4).
Meanwhile, Habibillah, President Director of PT Pembangunan Lhokseumawe, described the international business forum as a concrete step toward expanding export networks and attracting new investments. He noted that collaboration between the government and private sector within such cross-border dialogues will accelerate Aceh’s transition toward a plantation-based economy.

“This is more than just a forum—it’s an entry point for tangible cooperation in palm oil downstream industries and renewable energy development,” Habibillah said.
Through this initiative, the Lhokseumawe City Government aims to enhance regional export performance and solidify Aceh’s position as a palm oil trading hub in Southeast Asia. The synergy between government, investors, and industry players is expected to foster inclusive economic growth that directly benefits local communities. (P3)
